I bumped into a taxi once a few years back, was reversing so was only going about 5 mph hour. His passenger got out and went on his way,
taxi man offered me to just pay for damages. a tiny dent which might have already been there, don't know for sure.
He said he would get quotes i said okay pass on phone num and address,i asked a friend for advice he told me to report it to ins
,and if heard back from taxi man with a high quote he was chancing his arm and to tell him i couldn't afford it,and it would have to go through ins .
He came back with a quote of £900 which apparently was cheapest of three, told him it would have to go through ins and never heard from him again.
    :)£5 a day challenge april £338 /£150

  • Our guy has come back to ask for a registration number so he can give to his Insurance company. He was a bit more reasonable this time and said he understood where we were coming from. He dropped his passenger off about 20 mins after the accident and he said they never mentioned anything about being sore etc, he just got a solicitor's letter 2 weeks later, so it looks like it's the passenger who's trying it on.

Its more likely he "found" a passenger. Why would they even have his address? Its unlikely they would have asked for it with such a minimal impact accident.
