Calvin Klein makeup set

Not 'cheap' in the intital sense but hey, I thought it was a bargain!
I picked up a Calvin Klein makeup set in T K Maxx yesterday - RRP £110, selling for £19.99.
For someone who has an extremely brand conscious, label mad 16 year old stepsister it's going to make an impressive Christmas present.
They also had smaller sets, can't remember the RRP but they were selling for £9.99 - still nice looking but perhaps less value for money as you only got three or four items in those, rather than the nine or ten in the larger box set.

Thanks OP! I found saveonmakeup.co.uk also has cheap Calvin Klein bits - it's with checking every so often as their stock changes.
saveonmakeup.co.uk/brands.php?id=119I love Frazzles!0 -
This sort of offer was posted a while ago.
IMO if you like premium branded makeup the CK stuff is awful. The nail varnish is passable but eyeshadows are hard, difficult to apply and don't last, the mascara is watery and overscented.
Not even a bargain at £20 if it's unusable!0 -

I see what you are saying but as someone who puts a lot of thought into gifts I am hoping this will 'cut the mustard' for it's street cred even if the product is rubbish...and I always find that she's one of the hardest people in my family to buy for so I am dead chuffed to have sorted her gift out as one of the first!
Previous gifts of Benefit makeup and Vera Wang perfume have gone down well, so I think the beauty gifts are a winner with this girl - bear in mind that she's only in the past year or so started experimenting with makeup so it's all about the branding right now.
It's nice to give a gift that looks like you spent so much more on it, and although I don't give to receive it's not quite the same when you get a box of chocolates or smellies in return, which is what seems to come my way from her and her sister jointly each year
but hey ho, I do much prefer the act of giving a present anyway, it's lovely when someone enjoys the gift you have put thought into choosing. 0 -

I am not the only one!!
I always spend way, way too much time thinking and hunting for the perfect gift for everyone.... but receive something back which immediately goes to the next school fayre.
One 'friend' in particular spares no expense, but also no thought what so ever on the gifts she gives.
She goes to M&S or Next etc and just bulk buys things.
For about 4 years in a row I received virtually identical smelly sets.
Hubbie received a glove and scarf set for 5 years running.
It wasn't cheap, but she had not put an ounce of thought into it.
She even bought my dd exactly the same puzzle 3 times in 12 months. Christmas, Birthday, Christmas.
I know she is a 'busy' person, but what thought does it take to think, This year I will buy everyone smellies. the next year buy books, the next buy jewelry/accessories?
Bargain hunting/using Grabbit, I don't spend any less on people.... they just get more/better quality items as gifts.
So spending £10 could get them gifts worth £30 or £40.Spending £20 gets them something worth £50+.
Every Christmas I say I am not going to 'waste' as much time and effort on everyone, but every year I do.
Like you, I love giving to people, and knowing that they are thrilled with the present I chose for them. I just wish other people would emply 10% of my effort when they chose presents.
I always manage to smile brightly and say the right things when I unwrap yet another dismal repeat gift. But it is hard to explain to children how X can have forgotten they have given them that item twice already..... and it was way too young for them a year ago anyway!!:(
They always say the right 'polite' thing to the giver......but you can tell by their faces how 'naff' they think the present is.0 -
I see what you say OP, but for others who may be buying this - it was just my opinion on the product!0

It's terrible quality makeup. It's not worth the RRP or the discounted price.
I wouldn't give it to anyone who's into quality cosmetics or who knows their stuff.
If they're just into brands then fine.0
