Just a quick query
Applied for an IVA in early DEC told not to pay anymore creditors now got a threatning letter from Metropolitan services claiming the usual CCj's and a bailiff etc what do i do ? Forward it to the company dealing with The IVA!! they said that if i were to pay one creditor and not the others it harms the IVA application etc etc

hi, are the company advising you charging you? because if they are get outta there fast. Contact the CCCS or similar and they will organise it all for you. Your creditors will be happier. you will still default but ccjs are much less likely. We used a fee charging company (baines & ernst don't even know if they still exist). Most creditors didn't want us paying forty pounds to B&E when that money would be better spent paying back the debt. Sensible really. CCCS dug us out of our financial black hole about three years ago, and although we are not fully debt free we will be soon. But the best thing about CCCS was the peace of mind it saved our marriage ( beause of the stress it was tough) and our house, what more can you say? We were also allowed a 'low start' where we paid less each month for six months. our credit rating is still shafted, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But we are on the up..... and luckily our jobs have improved dramatically and it won't be long til we can forget about (but learn from) the whole experience.
Oh yes, Metropolitan services were one of our creditors and they turned into a different animal when the CCCS was helping us.
Good Luck

i was with the cccs but then let them go to the wayside!! TBH i panicked as the wife through a serious accident through pregnancy and then her brother being in a coma has not worked since April 06

I then thought that an IVA would help me out so now it looks like the CCCS will not have me back (have not asked yet) and i am at my wits end as it seems I should have spoken to them again yet was afraid to0 -
Hello there and welcome
An IVA will not be free which ever company you choose to go with. The best thing would be to decide whether IVA is actually the best option for you.
We can help you if you post all your details - statement of affairs. I presume you have one already as you have gone down this route. If not, southernscouser's sticky at the top of the forum will show you what to do.
I didn't understand your sentence about wife/brother - hope all is well.
Good luck!Leason learnt :beer:0 -

I'm a bit confused about the CCCS and your IVA plans.
Had you agreed a DMP with CCCS? if so how much were you paying. Are you still paying this amount or have you stopped paying anything
How many people are there in the family...is you wife expecting to go back to work and if so how will that affect the family income.
Can you explain whats happening about the IVA? is there a proposal ..is this SOA the one you plan to use for an IVA?0 -
Hi Clapton Yes I stopped paying the CCCS quite stupidly in dec now that has come back to haunt me as the guy advising me about an IVA told me to not pay anyone else and really sold this to me ( I was desperate have 2 young kids and needed money for Christmas)... Realise now in hindsight that this was a major Faux pas on my behalf ! Should I contact payplan and see what they can offer as i do not think the cccs will have me back ( I was paying them £100 per Month) I panicked as I had not told them of the worsening financial situation as the wife had not been able to work!!0

Oh Worry of worries Will my apointment with Payplan be a non event if most of my debt is being handled by debt collection agencies!! Christ if so what do i do now?0
