how many of us have our contracts ending this year? Mine ends in March 07.
Whilst theirs a good chance it could continue, it may not and I don't know if I alwasy want to work with the group of people I work with.
Now theirs a few possibilities and I'm unsure about to do. My colleagues are all in the same boat so we can't really offer each other advice but no ones sure what to do.
Theirs a few potential jobs knocking about but some are mundain jobs, that although permanent, include a 6k pay cut. Or ones that for only funded for 1 year or hold out until march 31st to find out whether my contract is getting continued. If not take the redundancy pay (about £800-1000) and start looking for something else.
can anyone offer advice or are you in the same situation.

I'm in almost the same boat Leni.
My contact ends in April, my job is funded, and I wont find out if there is new funding until the end of March.
The project that I work on has been succesful so there is a good chance that we will get fresh funding to continue running the project.
I'm looking in the job papers etc at the mo to see whats about just in case but I'm pretty confidant that funding will be continued.0 -
As you are in and out of work I personally would take the redundancy pay:A Tomorrow's just another day - keep smiling0

my contract ends on 28th Feb, 7 weeks today. Have worked here on a series of little contracts and on a casual basis for 16 months and have tried to get a better paid permenant job but to no avail.
I'm currently looking into the possibility of a temp job in another department but the money's not great and the work's mundane. Low way/boring work/temp contracts I can take 2 out of the 3 but not all 3 which is what I have now - adds so much stress and money worries - I earn less than OH and he's a student (doing a PHD)
On a major job hunt now - there's a job with my name on somewhere - just need to find itInitial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000
