CSA variations & mortgage payments

this whole CSA stuff is so confusing?!?!
based on her experience it probably depends on the person doing the calculation and their interpretation of the rules.
She is only just starting with this process as last year when he left, she called the CSA and she was told no point in making a claim because he is paying the mortgage. So she has now been told she can't backdate the claim, even though it was one of their people who told her not to bother.
I've heard anecdotally about the CSA, and thought they were one-off situations. But now knowing someone directly who is trying to sort things out, I can see why people get so very frustrated.
here's hoping it gets sorted sooner rather than later0 -
I'll try to speak to a Variations Officer tmr, and will hopefully have a definitive answer.0

Thank you very much0 -
To clear up confusion the NRP can apply to have his mortgage payments taken into account under prior debts until such time as those payments no longer benefit the family. I am 100% positive as i used to be a variations officer for new rules0
