Newbie help required please!!

Hi

have been browsing this site for a while now and just got the courage to post!

We are a family with two children, I gave up full time work to be with them and now we are in debt and don't know how to sort this all out.

To be honest it's probably all down to me - after losing my Mum 4 years ago seems to have triggered my happy shopping, but asides from this it's also day to day stuff we have been putting on the cards.

My hubby has been credit card tarting but has been refused the latest one which is really hit me, now I think we've had our lightbulb moment and need to sort this out.

We owe in total £15k have equity in our house of about £80k and wondering is the best way to increase out mortgage to clear this debt?

Thanks for reading this and hope to get some sound advice I know I'm not alone

  • Hi there,

Remortgaging is not the only or the best way to go - you need to put all your details up SOA (Statement Of Affairs) including everything from Direct Debits to haircuts - the approximate needed monthly for everything.

Once you get this up you'll be able to get a lot more help as the people on the site will be able to advise you on what you can reduce spending on ie insurances/shopping etc. therefore saving you money to put towards your debt rather than remortgaging

    Good luck
