  • You have probably already been to see PayPlan.
    How did you get on?
I have been with them for 2 years now and they have been brillient and very supportive when situations change.
I would be interested to know how you get on.

Glad to hear you have taken the first step, Payplan are usually quite quick to get back to people otherwise just give them a ring on their freephone number. Good luck

  • Chatted to Payplan on the phone, so far so good, no judgements on the debt. Ready to take the next steps.
Still scared to say how much ...... well okay, £40,000 !
    How'd I get to this position ?

    Recovery hopefully starts now.
  • Took my first step an hour ago with Payplan. No judgements, friendly and helpful. Forwarding template letters to creditors. Am self-employed and biz bad. Owe £38,000, half credit cards, half on bus bank loan/overdraft. Seeing bank next week, expecting them to pull the plug. IVA may be a way out to take pressure off, but frightened bank will bankrupt me. At least I have made a start to sort myself out. Can't sleep, can't eat, no cash left! Car boot on Sunday.

I'm with Payplan and they are great. Really helpful and non judgemental. I don't know what I would have done without them. Good luck all.

My husband is with payplan too!! Really helpful and non-judgemental as his debt was through Gambling and is about 60k (which I only discovered early in 2006 and it was me who initially made the call to payplan as he was extremely depressed and in denial).... he has now been with them since August and I have seen an incredible change in him and our relationship now that he is no longer trying to bury his head in the sand or hide the debt... we are still battling with Lloyds who have agreed to the DMP but are still charging loads of interest... all other creditors accepted and frozen interest which includes Halifax, MBNA (Virgin card) and the co-op!!

We have now moved to the next stage at payplan with a new case officer and I have to say that she is not so easy to get hold of or quick to answer my calls but still very helpful and with the added bonus that you can logon to your account on the net and see where your payments are going, get copies of letters etc and also email your case officer directly.

Good luck getting things sorted, highly recommend them.

  • :hello: To all you people who are taking their first steps to sort out their debt with Payplan
    1. Be open
    2. Be honest
    3. Comply with their requests
For me it was such a sense of relief and I was able to sleep easier at night. It takes the strain off and you only make one payment to them and they pay out to your various creditors for you.

If you ever wonder how you got into a financial mess. DON'T blame yourself, often circumstances dictate how these things happen. Just be proud you are dealing with it. Good luck!!!!!!! :grouphug:

Good luck peeps. Youve done the right thing you are in good hands. BE paitent though because you will be keen to get on. One thing, though, keep posting your questions on here or search for other threads with DMP in the title just for reassurance.
