Mortgage + PhD income

Just a quick question, apologies if its been asked before.
I've been saving a deposit for a long time, and I hope to be in a position to buy this time next year, with a substantial deposit and a low mortgage. However, there is a possibility of me starting a PhD in 2012 and I was wondering if there are any lenders that would take the money I would receive (around 14K per annum) into consideration?
Thanks :-)
