Its a long time since I have posted but I thought I would share this with you.

I have over the past few days visited a few local Tescos and found that certain packs of Socks are going through at 4p.

As far as I am aware all of the following when purchased or checked at self scan will show up at 4p.

Barcode 5098 - these are a 2 pack of 'performance walking socks F&F' state made in UK and maximum warmth. This barcode is for size 9 -12. I am not sure what barcode is for 6 to 8 and a half but they will go through at 4p as well. They seem to have 2 different prices on the front, either £10 or £6, some may have £3 handwritten on them but go through at 4p.

Barcode 2921 - these are a 3 pack of performance heavy boot socks sized 9-12, same as previous for sizes. These are shown at £8 but may have £3 handwritten again - go through at 4p.

Barcode 9336 - These are a 3 pack of thermal walking socks. Says made in UK, maximum strength and thermal on them. size 9 - 12, labelled up as £8. for sizes 6 - 8 1/2 the barcode is 5 052320 869312

Barcode 4406 - Therese are a three pack of mens feel fresh cotton rich casual socks sizes 6 - 8 1/2. labelled up as £8. Dont know if sizes 9 -12 will go through at 4p.

All the above will go through at 4p. I have cleared the shelves at Long Eaton, Ilkeston, Toton, Beeston but there is some left at the Tesco Home style store in Netherfield where I had the misfortune of going today for a look at furniture - rubbish!!

I have had over 50 packs of them from the above which works out at approx £450 rrp and has cost me just over £2, I have kept some for myself, some for xmas presents but the majority I have given away.

Got this at my local for £7.98. Found in the clearance aisle. Correct SEL.

Prices online are mostly £30 upwards so bargain for those wanting a more fun baby gift/soother thing. Good reviews too.

Guess Alfreton was out of your range or not 1 of your targets - quite close to me - although Toton & Long Eaton would have been my 1st targets

Anyway, picked up 11 packs Thursday lunch time

5 of the "Barcode 9336 - 3 pack of thermal walking socks 9-12"
However mine were marked at £6 or €7 (7 Euros)

The other 6 packs were a NEW BARCODE - ending 2907 - Also marked at £6 or €7 (7 Euros)
These 2907s are the SIZE 6-8½ of your "Barcode 2921 - 3 pack of performance heavy boot socks sized 9-12"

I took one pack of each to a Price Checker - beeped as normal but took quite a while for the display to change and instead of showing the price it said - "PLEASE CONTACT A MEMBER OF STAFF"

(This is something I encountered with the very recent "glitch" of 10 packs of snack size Mars bars going through at 24p)

So I thought there was a good chance that 4p was going to work and on both items.
Just tried one of each at a Self-Scan till and sure enough 4p each - 8p to pay - which I did rather quickly given the hawk-eyed SS SA who appeared to be watching everything VERY closely.

Anyway stashed them in the bike and went back for the remaining 9 packs.

Returned to the same SS till whilst the SA was distracted by another customer - scanned them in double quick time - 9 x 4p = 36p
Fed it a £2 coin VERY quickly - looked like it was going to give me £1.60 in 20p pieces (I counted 4 as they shot into the hopper) + 4 x 1p coins
Grabbed what was in the hopper - and there was a £1 coin
Counted up £1.84 in change 20p TOO much
27 pairs of socks for 16p :rotfl:

Just been to tesco & found a camouflage ready bed on the shelf with no SEL, got it price checked & it was only £3.50.
Also the campingaz single bed (see link) scanned at £1.75.

Just been to tesco and they have 42" tv stand / coffee table mdf price dropped to £1 they did these last year and for the price you can't go wrong my local is Hartlepool
