best time for reductions

I know ita been asked before whats the best time for reductions in asda/tesco?

On Saturday evenings my Asda reduces bread rolls from 25p each to 5p each, including all the seeded rolls.

At my Asda I find it's around 5:30. I get chilled items at about a 3rd of the price and there's generally a fair bit still left to pick from. You've got to factor in the fact that the later you go, the less choice you'll have.

My tesco exspress reduses at dinner time had loads bargains theis week chickens for 55 pence fresh ones,all veg just pennies in fact i am going soon lol

Our big Tesco used to drop the bread right down just before 7pm, but our mini Tesco does it ealier on more around teatime I think.

In my Asda, I've never ever seen them putting out the general woopsed items except the bread. I know for a fact they do this around 7pm to 7.30pm each week, because I'm normally arriving at the bread aisle when they're putting it out - I'd spotted them doing it before but until I saw it a few weeks in a row it had never clicked that my routine was catching them every week.

This is on a Thursday or a Friday evening btw - that's the only time I go shopping and the above time frame is very reliable. They tend to discount packs of 6 rolls to 20p, etc.

This depends entirely on each individual store so there is no overall rule.

Try asking friends and family who use the same stores as you.Could also ask at Customer service what their policy is.

Why not go by 1 of the previous threads the times are the same but then the time could be different from 1 store to another.

I go to asda on sundays mainly, its a bit further than my local supermarkets (Morrisons mostly). At the asda its great, they do all the breads, fruits + produce and chilled section on whoopsies about 2-2.30 orso. Good prices too! Its usually that time cos of Sunday trading hours though. I sometimes go there during the week on the odd day or 2, they can do reductions about 4pm ish on weekdays like.

At the Morrisons they used to do cakes and produce reductions on a sunday at about 3pm orso but now I find they take like 15% off the cakes and bread at about 3pm in the hope that customers'll buy em at the 'reduced' prices. I've been at about like qtr to 4 and they sell basically all cakes and breads at 20p each!

Having spent the past week in Scotland I am surprised at the different reduction percentages offered by the same stores. I live very close to Morrisons and sometimes pick up reduced bakery items usually these are reduced by approximately 20p, i.e something costing £1.19 reduced to .99p. However in Scotland I was amazed and impressed at the reductions offered there. We picked up cakes from the bakery reduced from £1.19 to £.29 pence. Shopped at the same time as at home and items due to expire the same day, so how come such a big difference?
