After doing my online order dashed to my Boots stores in town and got some great Botanics items - the £2.99 wipes were the cheapest item available but you qualify for a free £4.99 moisturiser. THe more fleet footed had got the cheaper items but I'm not complaining.

By the way, Boots are a very good online retailer and don't charge your card until your order has got to the point of DESPATCH.

However, at the point of order taking, they do a "pre-authorisation" for the amount of the order.

This is not the same as charging you - although of course it "ringfences" the money in anticipation of completing the order.

So if your bank account available balance is reduced by £50 (on a £50 order) it just means they are pre-authorising it and not charging it - yet.

If they despatch the order in 4 days time, that is the time they will actually charge the £50.

It works best when the despatch is within a day of the order being input.

i rang customer services to check on the orders and they said everything was packed - mine still shows as processing online though so it might be worth ringing them to see if you have everything you ordered

I got my dispatched email this mornin, and everything I ordered is there :j I'm so impressed, I paid £45 for £180 worth of stuff. I've got birthdays covered all year and some christmas. Best sale ever

Same here! Luckily my OH will be at work when my haul's delivered so will just hide it in the cellar with the other 15+ bags of bargains that I haven't quite sorted into boxes! Unless it arrives on Saturday, but surely I couldn't be that unlucky?!

He can't complain too much as that's all next Christmas's shopping done except for choccy's and the kids main pressy's. Must remember to write them down this year so I don't keep buying more and end up with enough for the next 3 Christmas's!!

I have just had a dispatch notice to say that all but 2 items are coming my way. I have my mothers day x 2, a 16 year old birthday and teachers summer end of term presents sorted. Hooray!!
And yes I too ordered something for the husband so I can pretend its his stuff plus lots of packing in the box when it arrives!!

does anyone elses dispatch email say at the bottom "Don't forget you can still order lots of gorgeous gifts for Christmas from boots.com, order by 18 December 2006 for Christmas delivery" lol, shouldn't that be 2007, as thats what my order is for!!!!!!!!!!!!!
still at least i've got all i ordered on the dispatch note, can't wait for it to come, will be like xmas all over again!!!!!!!!!!!
