SHEARERBOBS wrote:nursery are real sticklers about paying monthly which is a pain. I get tax credits every 4 weeks which is £640, but they just sort of sit in the bank and get nibbled away at buying bits and bobs
could you use a childminder instead of a nursery? they are usually significantly cheaper?
ask your local childrens info service run by your council or have a look on your councils website. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Hi guys
Yes tax credits are spot on, as my hubby is a sub contractor he gets paid a set weekly wage, but the tax credits use his profit - not his weekly earnings as he is self employed - if that makes sense. It's all above board, not ripping the state off honest!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Child minder's were actually more expensive than the nursery as they charge by the hour rather than the day! They were about 30 - 40 pound a week dearer.
£14 isn't much to get by on this week, but I don't get paid this friday, if i did it'd be £200 "spare".0 -
do you think you can string out the 14 quid for the week? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

have a look at your freezer and storecupboards list; you might be able to survive on that and not buy any foodTH0

I'm hoping so! I just found £30 in the savings so I've transfered that over.
I've planned the meals for this weekend using just what in freezer and cupboards. We usually have an indian takeaway saturday night, so I'm making a curry instead with a 49p jar of sauce from Lidl!!! I never dreamt i'd go to Lidl but it's ok actually!!!!!!!! That's saved us £15 straight away, it's mad.
brought my lunch today, made too much chilli last night so hey presto - todays lunch!0 -

tip- find some gram flour at a later date and learn how to make your own bhajis ( well easy) once youve done this youll never buy a supermarket bhaji - or even many takeaway ones again :T:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most?
