Rotisserie chicken

Can you freeze a rotisserie chicken, as in those ones you get from the supermarket that are cooked? I managed to get one as a bargain and i could do with storing it for more than a few days. If the answer is yes can you advise with defrosting and re-heating.

I've bought these when they are discounted and have frozen them, I've waited until they are cold, then stripped the meat off and frozen it. I'm going to have a lovely pizza on Saturday night with some of the meat as it happens - yummy!
When I see them discounted again I will be buying more, as it works out cheaper than a raw chicken, and there is no cost in cooking it either - bargain!0 -
My mother in law buys these from Costco and always freezes one and then reheats it once defrosted - she is still alive and kicking!0

I`ve frozen one plenty of times after stripping off the meat, just thaw as normal and rehat in the microwave or cover with gravy in a dish and reheat in the oven.
Remember not to waste the carcass either as the stock makes lovely soup

Would it be ok to freeze them whole? I love these and i try to pick one up when they are discounted to have for dinner, but only ever get one because i know i won't be able to eat any more than that.

Probably but i don`t think that i would tbh, they would take too long to thaw and that would have to be done in the bottom of the fridge to be done properly for such a large object. That would take ages and the meat would be three days old by then ie two days at least to thaw and then the day that you bought it and froze it.
Far better to strip the meat off and then freeze it, that way you could just take a portion out of the freezer and thaw it as you needed it which wouldn`t take long. I wouldn`t fancy trying to reheat a whole cooked chicken either - too much risk of it not being reheated evenly all the way through and too much bone to risk being thawed properly before being reheated.
