how do you all know what to pick up and what will be on offer?

Bit of luck, plus the fact that Cov X point has a scanner that works . I noted that there were price issues on the George Foreman grills. Never expected it to be 1p thought.:D

Hiya, can I ask which vacuum cleaner it was please? I really want a decent one!

Hi there. Its more of a handymans vacuum really. It can attach to power tools and also has a blow function to clear away sawdust, leaves etc. It looks something like this http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.207-5834.aspx

I believe there is some proper household vacs bein sold cheaply but I don't know the models as its not something i've been looking for.
  • Not much good for me then, but thank you! I'm checking the vacuums at the minute but its slow going and you get some strange looks- the vacuum section is right in front of the entrance to the staffroom!

Bargains in Tesco Connswa@er tonight - at last!!
    Philips 6900 shaver - £18. On Amazon for £37 I think.
    Remington F7790 - £13 - Amazon £52.
Can't believe I have found a bargain at last!!
Still Philips shaver, some other Remington though not as cheap. Had ladies ceramic curling tongs for £2.50 - sorry can't remember make but had lots. Stand at end of shavers etc near baby aisle. No cheap toys though.
HTH a fellow Belfast MSE. :T

Well done on your bargains, seems to be slim pickings in NI stores (well by the time I got to any anyway!) so well done!
    :) Be nice - it's free! :)

Always scan. Use a self-scanner if you can. Otherwise just take it to a till with an apologetic smile but if you are in for a while with lots to scan vary your SA's or they will think you are a weirdo :p

Thanks - next question - are the scanners mobile or are they fixed because I have seen ppl take items to a pillar and with what looks like a scanner.
And has anyone found any bargains at M@rltesh@m or C0pd0k

Got the black ebony toaster - think its russell hobbs but couldn't swear to it, will check - for £3. It wouldnt scan on the self scanner so I took it to customer services and it came up with £3. Customer service lady looked very impressed so I dutifully offered to fetch her one! Got to keep our helpful SA's happy too!
Also - although I should be posting on the toy thread - there were loads of new unpacked boxes of stock on the top shelves. After peering at them all for ages like a proper weirdo, I got the OH to get the right ones down for me. Secret fairy barbies at £1.30, mini barbies at 40p, moon dough for £2 and some star wars blasters (sadly now scanning at £7.99 not £2) - point is, theres still some of the sale stock arriving.
Ooh, also nearly forgot some mens babyliss clippers for £2.09 ish
So, all in all I'm glad I acted on my withdrawals, first time at Tescos for a couple of days and I'm well impressed with my haul. Toaster was probably best buy, its a really nice one and matches my kitchen perfectly :)
