Fluff coming off inside of track suite bottoms

My OH recently bought a pair of fleecy type dark track suit bottoms from Cotton Traders. The first time he wore them a huge amount of fluffy bits came off the inside of the garment, and stuck to his light coloured underwear. It looks as if they have been completely splattered with ink stains and the fluff is really difficult to remove.
Can anybody suggest a way of treating these trousers to ensure that any fluff stays on the garment and doesn't remove itself. On complaining, Cotton Traders just told us to return the garment to the nearest shop but as we don't have one nearby and I've had to shorten the trousers anyway, I'd rather try and resolve the problem in situ if possible.

We have the same problem with Grandad's fleece joggers. It get's everywhere. The only thing I can suggest is to turn them inside out and roll them with a lint roller or get some sticky tape and do it that way. I found tumble drying them also get rid of some of the fluff.
However ... they will still loose some fluff as it rubs on the skin.
My advice ... don't bother with them if you don't have to. I only have Grandad here for the summer holidays, but it happens everytime! Can't do too much about it though as he is 90 and likes them as they are very comfortable for him.

Turn them inside out then tumble dry them on cold for half an hour. Subsequently line dry them inside out. Plus wear black underpants!Val.0
