Kitchen kettle steel scale/fur collector - 74p

I'd been looking around for ages for one of those little mesh thingies that you can pop in your kettle to collect all the scale, and none of my high street shops had them in. Looked them up on Amazon and you could get them a tad cheaper on eBay, but they are now half price at 74p so a great bargain!

I have a concealed element kettle and use white vinegar, heating the vinegar in the kettle is optional but quicker, though it won't last as long. You can put the vinegar back in the bottle when cooled, and use it for quite a few descalings.
I prefer white vinegar as the worst that can happen is ending up with a slightly vinegary first cup of coffee after descaling0 -
i use white vinegar too0

Vinegar and coca cola.. Can't recall WHY I do this or where I heard it from but it works wonders
