Q: Steiff's first replica announced for 2007 carries the stainless steel ear button with 'Steiff' lettering having the final F tailing back to the E. What year was this button first introduced?
Answer:- 1905 changed to Essexgals answer so you will have to decide,
1904 is the answer here
Got from here
Franz Steiff, one of Margarete's nephews and the company's chief technician, invented the "Button in Ear" in 1904.
From 1st November 1904 onwards, a metal button embossed with an elephant was attached to every Steiff product.

Thanks for this comp Mummyno4.
I think the answer is 1905 though - as the competition specifically mentions the 'Steiff' button with the trailing 'f'. In 1904 the button used had the elephant, the underscored Steiff button was 1905 earliest (I think).
The question is a bit ambiguous though
Helen;)old enough to know better, young enough not to care;)0
