Asda glitch? 12 pack pedigree dog food 58p

Sorry if this has been posted.

My mother went into asda in Caerphilly yesterday and did her usual shop and bought the pedigree 12 pack in jelly which was rolled back to £5 but when she checked her receipt when she got home the only dog food on the receipt was 58p. There wasnt many left on the shelf, maybe because someone noticed that it had scanned at 58p. Most probable a glitch but worth checking out, as thats the price for one can of pedigree.

Dont know if its specific to this store only.

It looks like the barcode for one of the individual cans has been scanned rather than the barcode on the 12 pack.

So not a glitch, just down to the checkout operator.

Yeah this happened with a 6 pack of asda cream soda for me a while back.

Would have been good , but it happenes a lot , just one can scans .

We didnt have any individual cans just the 12 pack and the lady scanned the barcode on the back of the pack, maybe they put the wrong barcode up for the pack on the shelf so the packs were 58p like a individual can rather than £5 rollback barcode.

This use to happen to me while working on the checkouts. The individual cans in the multipack have barcodes on them and sometimes they'd be facing out towards open air so to speak.

No, what happens is the scanner picks up the barcode of one of the cans in the pack instead of the one on the multipack.

At least we had a bargain out of it :j

Seems odd that they scan at 58p if a barcode from the tin is sticking out, as wouldnt people try that at the self scan?? I thought multi-packs didnt have scannable barcodes. :rotfl:

That wouldn't really work at self scan as the weight of the item would throw the machine off
