Halogen Cookers

Hi, We are thinking of buying a halogen cooker, most reports we have seen look positive, but just how much do people use them?. We would appreciate your comments.

  • Hi bobpat

I don't have one but my brother has 2 - he liked the first one so much he bought another one!

He uses them everyday, cooks everything in them and raves about them constantly to everyone :-)
  • I had one and used it every single day for 18 months until I got a new oven, and then gave it away.

I cooked Sunday dinners in it, lasagne, nuggets, jackets, you name it I cooked it, except cakes and pizza.

I didn't cook cakes because I couldn't get the timing right, but I have seen cakes done on those selling channels. Pizza the base was too floppy for us, but someone on these boards suggested cooking the underside first, then flipping it.

I would highly rate them and have no hesitation in buying another if needed. Mine was a godsend when I could not afford a new cooker.

easy to use if like me you cant cook, ours has a hinge lid, lots dont and when they get hot you have to look for somewhere to put it down...they are cheap to run as heat up quicker so ideal.
