Where to source stock to sell online

Options
HI all

Longtime lerker on this forum, just wondering if anyone can recommend where to buy women's shoes/clothing/makeup to sell online (via Facebook) to people in my area.

I'm based in Ireland and know of someone doing similar to dropshipping women's clothing and Mac make up kits (obviously not real deal) and is doing really well from it

Thanks in advance

Neesie

I doubt anyone will tell you as you will be seen as competition. People hold good sources to themselves

Yea I was thinking that but only wanted to do it on fb but with locals in my area, and hoped that as I'm in Ireland there wouldn't be much competition lol

    Hi there
You say the Mac make up is not the real thing, so if you would be selling counterfeit goods which is illegal. I know of someone via my friendly post office little gentleman who told me of a cheeky lady who was making a fortune selling fake makeup shipped in from China on ebay. She was found out eventually and banned from selling.

So you need to be careful what you sell. Not worth the risk and what the ingredients could be is scary. I couldn't do that personally. I would love to find a product that could sell well. I googled and found drop shippers in China. The prices were good most in dollars but so many people are selling the same item at very low margins on ebay. So I haven't taken it any further.

I stick to clothes (nearly new:) )and collectables !!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope someone gives you some advice.

    :)

You will still be deemed as competition. It gets asked a lot and I never seen once anyone give details. Also so you say you only selling on FB whats to say you dont sell on else where either now or at later date. Good sources are hard to come by and know one in that right mind would give it out freely

Thanks for that.... Had only intended doing the fashion side of things, actually wouldnt use the makeup myself so wouldn't sell it either as I couldn't trust it, but with the clothes I think I could do well

Quick question, sorry if this comes across as rude but if you o not yet have a supplier, don't have an idea on the unit cost your suplier will be charging then how could you possibly know you would do well?

What would you be looking for?? Would you be buying bulk of the same item but a range of sies to sell which would mean an upfront cost or would you want a drop shop type setup?

Maybe googling make up dropshippers or make up wholesale could provide you with some deent leads. Do you sums again and again though, I have used a dropshipper in the past and I did sell alot but the margins were getting lower and lower as ebay became more popular that it eventually became too much work for too small a return.

Try Wholesale directories & Wholesale search engines. Research the companies throughly through wholesale community's like thewholesaleforums, business forums, soletraders etc book mark all the good websites and start to build up a virtual market place.

It takes a lot of time, effort and research so Id advise only pursuing if your passionate enough to ensure you stick it out long enough to enjoy some of the benifits because people are very reluctant to speak out inless of course they've been ripped off which their is alot off so yah. Basically it'll take a lot of your time, money and patience. Nothing is guaranteed and sticking it out long term would be very hard to compete with the veterans.

Also checkout clearence sites & surplus stock and watch out for overpriced last season stock, 2nd offs (failed to meet Factories standards) btw I've never pursued being a reseller or soletrader just stuff I learnt spending couple months in and around the community.

alot of jumped up sluggy's everyone rushing around looking for that 'niche' dam I hate that word like theirs such a thing on the Internet lol.

At best, you might end up selling overpriced unbranded old stock and making a small return whilst slowly enslaving your self into a market place like ebay. The big companies require hugh orders so you might have to try your luck on the market place in the wholesale communitys

    Good luck :)
