I'm married & all for just over £2,500

I'm now in the MRS club, my wedding was last Fri 26th.

Yes the weather was shocking, it rained alllll day except thankfully for 1 hr after the ceremony when we stepped outside for photos.

But the weather didn't phase me 1 bit, it was my wedding day, I wasn't bothered about the weather I was excited about getting married.

I've just done a total for everything I know and it came to £2,534.10

Some things I got for free or really cheap.

FREE: Wedding cake (made for me by my friend just cost me £51.48 in cupcake cases, ribbon etc etc), veil (given to me by my friend), old wedding car (gift from my husbands uncle), 2 photographers (1 from a company for 1.5 hrs - our photos will be used to advertise on website) other a family friend.

CHEAP: Photographer (£50 as was her 1st wedding & she just wanted costs to cover petrol & food, was actually £30 but she did such a fab job we gave her £50)

I included everything in my totals that had any connection to the wedding, so having my nails done, buying thank you gifts for my friends, thank you cards I bought.

Some things I don't know yet like the table gift bags that were made for us by my mother in law, we didn't know about that.

But still I am over the moon that we did the whole day for that price. Even more so as I wore a size 16 dress from monsoon, I'd gone from a size 26 in 2 years since joining ww, only have 1 more stone to loose to be at goal weight. My wedding was just fab.

Here are some photos from various peoples cameras, no offical ones yet:

Before you query the flags my fab friend did it because my hubby is British & I'm Australian. We met online & I moved here for him 8 years ago. We met at the age of 18 online and I'm 29 now, him 29 in Nov.

I echo the above;the car is lovely too.

I hope no one takes offence but I would never have said that you were a size 16; you look a lot smaller than that!

    Congrats

I can't get over how much you look like Amanda Holden in the photo of you holding hands across the table!!
Huge well done on the weight loss!! What an achievement!
  • Thank you.

I had no idea what wedding car I'd have until it turned up, it was just the 1.

Hubby to be at the time drove himself and my mum to the venue & the wedding car picked up myself, dad and my sister.

I was over the moon with it, his uncle hasn't had it very long and when he offered, wellll we just couldn't say no.

My dress was from monsoon for £90, it was £180 and when I'd decided to order it a week after I found it on the website it was in the sale. That was it, it was ordered, tried on, loved it so didn't try on anymore dresses. The 16 didn't fit though back in March when I found it, but the 18 did, so I kept the 16 to slim into and managed to get into it 3 weeks before my wedding.

What a beautiful wedding - and you are a beautiful bride! Well done on your weight loss too - I wouldn't even have thought you were a 16, you look more like a 12! I love your cupcakes and your wedding car, and how happy you both look :)

  • awwww thank you.

I had reservations about my arms, I'm def a sleeve person when it comes to clothes.

Its about the only thing on some photos I think ewwww. Other than that yes I do look at myself and think 'well done you' and try and imagine me in that dress but as a size 26.

The car was amazing as were the cupcakes & our top tier cake. My friend had every detail covered for thr topper, I was sending her photos of my necklace & earrings and hair design, she copied every single detail. Took her 2 days alone to do the topper.

Our wedding was in a village pub, perfect for us as we had 22 guests. After we were married the room was then turned around for the meal, so everything was in the same place. The venue was only £300 from 11am - 11pm.
