I am being chassed by a debt collecter they are called daniels silverman and they have ent me a nasty letter saying i will be brought to court if i dont pay. I have offered them £5.00 a month but they have rejected. Does anyone know what happens if this is brought to court?

Presumably this is your debt? Have they provided you with proof of the debt?
Even if they have rejected your offer make sure you still make the payment.
If they decide to take you to court they will send court papers to you. You then complete them to admit or deny the debt. You can also ask to pay in installments. If you admit the money is owed then a CCJ is granted, and either issue you with an installment order or a forthwith order. You wouldn't usually attend the court, but if you wanted to you could ask for the hearing to be moved to a local court, eg if you want to dispute the debt or the paperwork they hold.

If you can afford £5pm then pay them that even if they say they won't accept it - they will probably eventually accept it but they'll try and push you for more in the meantime but don't let them break you. If you are paying them what you can afford then it is unlikely to go to court and if it does then hopefully the courts will look favourably on you as you are trying to pay them.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

I had the misfortune to use DS in a professional capacity a few years back to recover a commercial debt which was an open and shut case.
