Argghhh mistake on invites

Hi
I just wanted your advice. We've had our invites printed and my mum noticed an "error".
The invite says "Wedding from 12pm". We get married at 12 and my mum is wondering whether people will just turn up at 12 and have to hurry to sit down or whether they will assume at the wedding is at 12 and get there earlier.
What do you think I should do? Would you panic about this?

How many people are you inviting? Just wondering if you could spread the word via friends and relatives!
I had an invite recently that said wedding from 12, I assumed I had to be there for 12, but liking to be early I got there for ten to...good job. The wedding did start at 12. Saying that when I showed the invite to my OH he told me I'm very silly, because that obviously meant the wedding started at 12. (And I do lack common sense sometimes!!)
So I'd say you should be fine, but perhaps see if you could spread the word to be on the safe side? Perhaps tell a few people and ask them to pass it on?
I definitely wouldn't panic, and thinking of cash I wouldn't change the invites!0 -
I wouls ring the bride and check if I had an invite that said "from 12." But that's just because I'm a control freak and I need to know what's going on!!!
I would probably think it meant arrive at 12.
Could you maybe just send out a second information sheet to those who RSVP yes? Or are you having a wedding website? You could share info that way.

I would read that as "starts at 12pm, everything happens after that" for want of better wording on my part. If anyone is unsure I am sure they would ask you for clarification. Is there anyway you could make sure people know to arrive slightly before? facebook etc?0

i would read it as bride arrives at 12, like when ive had other invitations and had to be there by the time printed on themI am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0

This happened to us we sent out invites saying 2pm then the registrar said guests need to be there for 1.30 so we told as many people as possible and hoped most turned up early and everyone was there although some did get that at the last minute. We did say on the invite information to arrive with plenty of time for parking and seating though.Getting married Wednesday 24th August 2011!

If it said a certain time on an invite then I would presume that's the time the wedding service is expected to start so to be there before. I don't know why anyone would think anything else actually.
By the way it should be 12md if you want to be accurate.

I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

everyone turns up early for weddings.... well, mostly! we got a panicked phone call before one wedding when we weren't there with 15mins to go (the traffic was worse than expected).... turning up 10 mins in advance as we did was seen as late. we've always tried to be 20/30 mins early after that incident!
i wouldn't worry about it too much - there will be so many other things to worry about that this one can just be ignored!:happyhear0 -
I put the time it started on mine too, didn't even think about puttting earlier!
But in the info sheet with the invites (with hotel info, car parks etc) I added at the end:
'The wedding starts at 3pm, so please ensure you park with enough time to get seated':rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0 -
When I get a wedding invite, I always assume that the wedding *starts* at that time stated, IE - bride is ready to walk and always get there at LEAST 30mins before hand.0

Can you add an extra info sheet with a few bullet points, such as telling people to get there before 12, giving them directions, instructions on how to RSVP etc?
Just print them off yourself?0
