i would just mix it in with a decent beef stock and maybe thicken it a bit. sorry if you were wanting a more detailed idea. i am a simple sort. :)
Opinion on everything, knowledge of nothing.
  • Most recipes seem to suggest just making the gravy as per usual and then adding 2-3 tablespoons of the chutney x

I always just add a few dollops to my made up gravy as well.

If you wanted a sauce, rather than a gravy, warm some cheap sweet sherry in a saucepan, add some of your chutney and mix it well. Warm it through and pour over your meat - yummy! I do this with my red pepper and chilli chutney. :)
  • I would just make gravy as normal and add your ingredient "to taste"

I use a mixture of quality red wine and stock for my gravy's.

Make your gravy as usual, using the appropriate stock (lamb / chicken / beef), and just add a few dollops of the onion stuff.

    Perfect. :j
