OMG :T I'm so happy after reading these messages of support!
So, quick update ... bessie mate came round with £50 and told me to get dressed and sorted to meet up for the Come Dine with me experience.
Dropped boys to their dads, sat on Asda car park for an hour and half composing myself. Trying to bring my state of mind to a more pleasant one.
Went to CDWM with girlfriends, of course they all picked up on my woes ... stayed there until 4:30am, couldn't eat anything felt !!!!!...
Slept in yesterday and my best work colleague called to say she wanted to take me to lunch, so off we went to nando's she paid for it all, desert as well! Best mates eh? What would we do without them ... I miss my mom :A RIP
So last night my best 'straight' gay best friend called and offered to lend me his 'device' which I declined lol But he so made me smile, chuckle etc
This morning, went to docs for supporting letter to help me get council housing, I currently rent @ £625 per month and can't really afford that, but had to do it quick time due to violent exhubby living in same street and having to sell house!
My GP is a star :T and said to collect the letter on Friday. Have contacted the council so hopefully we can get rehouses @ 50% less rental a month.
I'm back on the weight loss plan too, so had some fat busting tabs from the doctor too. Have had soup today (home made), but appetite isn't great.
I know this is a long road, and if finances was my only drama in life, I'm sure I could cope, but with everythign else it magnifies absolutely every event.
VERY UNCO-OPERATIVE EX, COS HE WANTS ME BACK (ALTHOUGH HE WOUDL NEVER ADMIT TO IT) AND KNOWS THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN SO JUST OUT TO MAKE MY LIFE A LIVING HELL EVERYTIME HE CAN
Thanks again guys for being oh so supportive, it really helps!:j On my way to being debt free :jStart date ~ 31st August Total debt holding me back! = £12946, Halifax CC = £120, Mint CC = £861, Barclaycard = £1214 ... Hi, I've just stumbled acorss your diary and wanted to say keep your chin up, you're so on the right track and your boys are blessed to have you.
Good luck with getting a new place, your GP and your friends are fab aren't they?!
Finances is rarely the only drama... but you'll get plenty of support round here, there are lots of wise and supportive people who will help you over the hurdles.Miggy

Wanted to offer some support in the 'single mum and trying to keep your head above water' clan!
Its really hard and to have coped with all that you have, I think you're doing brilliantly for trying to get back to a point where you can afford to buy again.
Have you tried nearly new sales for kids stuff ( selling and buying toys / clothes etc?) I also ebay a lot of stuff as my child grows - helps with some spare cash here and there.
Keep it up - your kids will be proud of you!May 2018 - £159k + £3.5K CC - let the countdown begin!
March 2019 - CC gone and bye bye M2 on 31st! £140k to go.:j0 -
Hi fabulously_rich - sounds like you are a right trooper and coping well with everything that is being thrown at you! I admire you for selling your house to pay off your debts, it couldn't have been easy!
I wish estranged parents would take responsibility for their children rather than leaving it all to the ones who are raising them, this makes me so mad! Again, you should be proud for managing so well.

Hello to you all
Is today a good day? Not sure ... actually, yes it is.
Sometimes things come to try us. I have opened the new current account (WITHOUT OVERDRAFT) and set up all new direct debits, or so I thought. Sent all the letters off to my utility suppliers, only to get letters from them 2 weeks later saying "you've cancelled your direct debit"!!!! Darnit, I know this, but I also asked them to use the new bank details. So today has been lots of calls providing the new bank details, but it's sorted now.
The new credit card (0% interest on Balance Transfers for 18 months) hasn't arrived  but got a text asking me to call ... I was scared, but called. They said "you've signed the application in the wrong place we''ll have to send you another". Why didn't they just send it!!!! So new application has been sent and now await new card to transfer credit card balances onto, one monthly bill for 18 months, very affordable.
So, checked my bank balances today. Halifax, still in overdraft £1,730 but not using now so standing order to pay £40 month into the account, that should suffice. Lloyds, still in overdraft but have £350 available credit and no bills coming out till after pay day. That feels better!
But ... isn't there always a but? My son has started playing football again on a Sunday morning, which means new football boots and increased petrol to get him to and from matches/practice sessions. Bless him, last night we went to gethim some boots, he's only 9 just gone, and is in a size 8.5 (9 in Adidas) football boots. Yes he is and going to be a very big lad (dad is 6'6" and I', 5'10") He picked out some cheap boots and asked can I have a match pair (obviously more expensive), and adult sizes, but cost me £47 in total which is much less than the £80 boots I got him last year, which didn't make it through the season.
I also know that the boys pick up on my moods:rotfl:
:j and react accodingly, they can be very stroppy when they're ready, but have been absolute stars this week, I've been more organised too, so sorting all this stuff out is paying dividends.
Am collecting my medical supporting letter from my GP today, so hopefully will get help with council housing soon. have already broached the subject with the boys, as far as they are concerned we are just moving house, which was always on the cards. I can't wait, this £625 a month is killing me!:(
Oh, found out today that job cuts are on the cards in the very near future! October to be precise and I'm not confident that I'll have a job,. looks like I started to sort things out at the right time. Wish me luck in keeping my job, because if I lose my job, there is a greater chance of me losing my mind lol:j On my way to being debt free :jStart date ~ 31st August Total debt holding me back! = £12946, Halifax CC = £120, Mint CC = £861, Barclaycard = £1214 ...
