Paying too much tax

Options
I started a new job a few months ago and i still seem to be paying too much tax. When comparing my take home pay to everyone else i receive around £150 less each month.
Is there anything i can do to sort this out?
Any help much appreciated

What's your tax code? What's the tax code of those you are comparing to?

How much do you earn gross and net?

What does your boss / payroll department say?
  • Check your tax code on your payslip. If you are on BR, then speak to payroll and ensure they have received a copy of your P45, assuming you have given them a copy,If you do not have your P45, the payroll will give you another P form to fill in. If you are still paying basic rate then it is up to the payroll to get your correct code. They will then adjust accordingly ensuring you receive your tax allowance within the year. Meaning you may initially pay less or no tax but it will sort out. You have no need to claim back of HMRC.
