Hi
i bought a phone on friday from tesco mobile. It was a touch screen reduced to £34.00. No reason why. So i bought it. I was talking to the the cashier and she said"your lucky its the last one, were not going to restock it".
So i spend the next couple of days working out how to use stuff. I really wanted to use it for music, like an mp3. When i look at the instructions, i need a wire, which i had to buy as they didnt supply it.
I found out i can use apps to get some new games and music from lgworld. I type it in my phone, and they no longer support it. So i try and register and have a whole load of issues.
I got my sister, on another computer , to try and register. She did. But it now says it dosnt support my model.
My question is , can i still return the phone. I wasnt told that lg stopped supporting my phone , i assumed a new model was out thats why it was so cheap.
Any help??
thanks!!

It depends on whether you can successfully argue that those aspects of the phone, e.g. the support, the ability to download apps and to use the MP3 player, form a material part of that phone's description.
I think they do, and as such Tesco have sold you something that's 'not fit for purpose' under the Sale of Goods Act. Take it back stating that you're returning under the Sales of Goods Act as the phone doesn't (and can never do) as described.
Stick to your guns and make it clear that you're returning it because it's not fit for purpose and that your legal rights allow you to do so. They might argue that you've simply changed your mind, or that you've used the phone, hence they're not prepared to take it back but be persistent. i bought the phone with tesco mobile.
When told me when i went there i got the last one, as they are no longer going to stock it. Im not sure if that means just stores or online.I think they are selling it off cheap to clear stock then they wont be restocking.
On the website(lgworld) it says my modle is not longer supported. When i use the website on my phone i get:
"As infromed mobile services on lg world have been terminated at the end of july 2011. Support for andriod only. Please go to lg world. "
On their website they say i should be able to download the app thing from that site, but when i hit it on my phone, i get directed back to the same page with the above on it.
When i tried to register the phone it said "your modle is no longer supported".
Called lg and they are going to try and sort it. They seem to think the phones faulty. Im just worried incase i do have to take it back, tesco's will be moody.
Sort of on the same lines, tesco have put if the phones older the 28 days you cant return it to the store, can they do that?
Thanks for your help so far!!:)0 -
Take it back today, you are well within the twenty-eight days. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0

You dont need to goto just that site to install items. You can search the net and install them from anywhere.
Still supported
lgworld web ....Services for Android/Windows Mobile/Feature Phone are the same as before.
But if you access the site using the phone ( wap) their are no services offered unless you have the app installed.
Its a basic touchscreen phone,No apps store as such, What did you want it for? Any particular purpose?
It does what it says on the box plays MP3's fine.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
No particular purpose. Its my first touch screen/andriod phone. It wasnt why i bought it (for the apps) but i kind of assumed theyd work. Ive had to buy a wire so that i can put music on it.0
