Cheap Wedding Bands

Title says it all!

Can anyone recommend an online company with cheap platinum rings, but with good reviews?

I see Argos are doing mens platinum D shaped, 4mm rings for just £320 which seems pretty good but can I do better! The advantage of argos being cashback websites though.

Im looking for platinum, no bigger than 4mm,

I've just ordered from bay rings, they haven't arrived yet, but I will let you know what I think when they do.

They do a mens D shaped 4mm in platinum at £325.39 so Argos is still cheaper for you.

And the place I got mine from would do a platinum light-D 4mm for £350 so Argos is still cheapest :).

Am I right in believing that for men, if you intend to wear the ring at all times then platinum is really only option as it is superior when it comes to being scratch resistant etc?

I was tempted to go for a cheap 60 quid job but it was suggested cheaper metals arent as strong? Is platinum the full package?

My husband wore a silver engagement ring (it cost about £10!) and he wore it for over 5 years (probably 6/7) and its still in good nick considdering he's a chef & plays with his car a lot!!! My white gold engagement ring looked battered (despite being replated a couple of times!) & we made the decision to have it remade with our wedding rings due to that fact, along with the issue of the stone not being safe & the need for regular replating!!!

Tbh, I don't think any ring is really going to be that resistant to scratches if you wear it day in, day out. You can always have them repolished or replated.

We have palladium wedding rings and they're fab :) Our jeweller recommended palladium as a lower cost alternative to platinum and I can't fault it so far! It regularly gets mistaken for being platinum :) I'd definitely steer away from white gold if you can as the need for replating was a pain in the bum & palladium doesn't need that.

I have heard that Titanium is a self healing metal and that any scratches will sort themselves out?!? Not sure how it works though!

Why do they list the rings as being mens or womens- why not unisex?

Couldnt I just get this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ladies-Platinum-Shape-Wedding-Ring/dp/B000S5JKV2/ref=sr_1_8?s=jewelry&ie=UTF8&qid=1315171782&sr=1-8

Im concerned though that 3mm might be too narrow and therefore look feminine!

DH has a titanium ring, has been wearing it every day since June last year and not a mark on it! Cost us about £50 off the internet! :D

We got our rings from Betts Metals. If you sign up for an account as a hobbyist, you get trade prices. We literally paid the price of gold based on the weight + VAT.

Loads of people on here have used them and the customer service is fantastic. Mine is a 2.5mm 18c white gold plain band and think it was about £160.

OH got a 5mm palladium one as lots of people recommended it for men. It's meant to be very hard wearing and is good value. He paid around £140.

We don't get married until November though so not worn them yet :D
    :j:j Got married on 12th November 2011 :j:j
