Hi All
first post here for a newbie:). Anyone know a cheap supplier of dried firewood for a stove? Ideal firewood is hardwood and kin dried/air seasoned.
Or alternatively, does anyone know of a fuel supplier willing to sell smokeless fuel such as glolite etc wholesale for a bulk buy?
I have just got a multi-fuel stove installed and thought it could run on household coal but it cant:eek:. Have to get chimney sweep out now!
Thanks

Hi Zonky
My sister told me of a supplier a short while ago and we've just received our order (2-3 day delivery nationwide, I think...not sure...but mine only took 2). It's fantastic!! They also cut it to any size (we have a small and a large burner).
I ordered two massive bulk bags and got em delivered to my door for £165. Last year I paid £110 for a trailer load that was only about the size of one of the bags and it was rubbish. Burned so quickly. This new stuff - we only put one large log in the big burner last night before we went to bed and it lasted overnight. Roll on winter....gonna be so cosy!! lol
There's also a link on their website where you can get it even cheaper if you live near them. I think £65 or £75 per bag???? or I guess you can pick it up. not sure.
Anyway their web site address is: My sister told me of a supplier a short while ago and we've just received our order (2-3 day delivery nationwide, I think...not sure...but mine only took 2). It's fantastic!! They also cut it to any size (we have a small and a large burner).

Hope it helps (I've created an account especially to let you know, I'm THAT impressed!! lol).
Please let me know if you find anyone else cheaper, as I'm always up for a bargain.
Have a good and warm winter!

many thanks for all the replies. Thanks for the advice Rob, shame its mainland;):D.
Just to update you all I have got a few emails back -Clandeboye estate do firewood but wouldnt mail me a price.
homrlog.com will deliver air dried hardwood for £90 per builders bag. Their premium wood is kiln dried and £125 for ash or beech. Delivery to your door is around £20 in the newtownards area and bulk buying gives progressive discount. They will cut to size of your stove.
northern ireland farm forestry will do a builders bag of air dried beech for £60 or softwood larch for £40 and you pick it up yourself.
Hope this is of interest to others but if anyone has cheaper suppliers please let us all know:A

jay at homra outside Hillsborough is a decent guy and his kiln dried logs are very good
we bought 4 small bags of kiln dried off him to try them and they are the job
his prices are up from today a bit though, but I think a cube of kiln dried is now £135-but they do give off some heat!0
