Hi all,
I'm having my parents round for dinner tomorrow night an wanted to cook roast chicken. However, I will be pushed for time after I've finished work.
Can I cook the chicken tonight, then stick it in the fridge and reheat it somehow tomorrow night? Would it taste ok?
Thanks,
Kevin x

Do you have a slow cooker? If you do I would put it in there in the morning and then brown off in the oven for about 30 minutes, I do this regularly as my son loves roast dinners and means that it is on the table quickly.
I think you can reheat cooked chickens from chilled but not 100% sure, if you have time go to somwhere like M&S and check their precooked chicken for reheating guidance0 -
yes you can cook in advance and reheat - reheat piping hot
yes it will be OK - just OK - not fantastic - your mum and dad deserve fantastic - do all your preparation tonight - have everything to hand so as soon as you get in you can put the chicken in the oven and ask your folks to wait a bit - perfection cannot be rushed.
or ask your mum to pop over early and pop it in the oven for you !!:)John0 -
you could spatchc o c k the bird to cut the cooking time down0

If you have a timer on your oven, set the timer.0
