I'm currently rather addicted to Asdas Gordal olives with garlic, but there's only 4 garlic cloves in each pot (though the olives are the best I've had in a long time too)!
Anyway... does anyone know of anywhere that sells really nice marinated olives for snacking (rather than cooking). I've googled, but I'm not sure any of the ones I've looked at would be any good, and I know many of them aren't what I want.
Or a tried and tested recipe. I'm looking for something that is not too salty or sour - just tangy and crunchy.

A waist is a terrible thing to mind.

I love the garlic in Aldi, they do a few different types but the chilli one is amazing.0

Thanks - I hadn't thought to look there (silly me) I looked in Waitrose and they didn't have any! I will pop there tomorrow.
I can get lovely marinated garlic from our local Farmers market (very yummy) but I can only get to it once a month - and I could eat a whole tub in a day given a chance!A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
I had a Syrian flatmate when I was at uni who used to have jars of pickled garlic. I tried one and it was surprising how mild and sweet it tasted. I thought eating garlic cloves would blow your head off :rotfl:
I think you might be able to get them in Asian grocers, if you've got one near you?0 -
I have, but they are often the plain vinegar with a bit of salt type, I do prefer it when there's oil in the mix and a bit of "seasoning" too.
We once went to a party where someone had put raw sliced garlic in the salad - OMG it was nasty - burnt your mouth! But marinated garlic is so lovely, gives it a sweet tangy taste, and then there's roasted garlic (and not forgetting smoked garlic) for the mellow smooth garlic flavour, oooh yummy - I do love garlic!A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
Asda do a jar of garlic cloves for £1-46 for £480g - look in mysupermarket for garlic and the pickled and marinated vegetable shelf."Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0
