I have just spoke to a lovely lady at cccs about adding a debt to my plan. The debt is Belmont Thornton and has been passed onto a debt agency threatning court/legal action which really scares me to death.

She told me to ring them and offer them a monthly payment of £5 and cccs will contact them aswell.

The debt recovery is Daniel Silverman in Liverpool. I was wondering if I can write them a letter instead of ringing them up because im no use on the phone and I would get upset if the debt company demand the money and stuff like that.

I don't see why you can't write to them instead - a lot of people recommend writing to debt collection agencies instead of ringing them anyway so everything is in writing. I would definitly send it recorded delivery though, so they can't deny receiving the letter. If you sent it today they would get it within a day or so.

Don't forget to put in the letter that you will only deal with them in writing and that any other form of communication will be deemed as harrassment
