I work in a care home, but for people with mental health problems, so may be a little different.
Id expect to be asked about your views on things such as confidentality, why you want to work in care industry, experiance, how you would feel working with people who are dying, dealing with bodily fluids etc.
I was given several examples, such as how i would calm a agitated patient, what i would do in x event.
Id also expect them to ask you questions about whether you can be flexible as far as working hours are concerned, and your health in general - as it can be a pretty physical job.
Other than that it will properly be more important how you come acrossed, eg if you are approachable, smiley, chatty and seem like a 'caring' person, more than any formal experiance or training.
Hope this has helped, i know some of it may not apply in a residential home, but im going from my experiance of a elderly mentally ill facility.0 -

one about how you work in a team
something about 'professional boundaries'

Hi, I'm a resi in a childrens home.
I ould expect they would ask about confidentiality, safeguarding, minimum standards of care, knowledge of procedures etc
Good Luck!0 -
Thanks for the advice. I thought I would add another tip
this is what i did before I had children and i loved it, the biggest legislation i would look at is every child matters legislation.
they might ask you how you would feel about working with a child who has commited a serious crime i worked with some schedule 1 offenders which is someone who has commited a sex crime,
caring for looked after children isnt an easy job but it is so rewarding good luck0
