French manicure question

Okay, might be a silly question, but I've never had a french manicure. Thought I might for the wedding but someone told me it wouldn't last. I was going to have it done this coming Monday with the wedding the following Monday afternoon.
Will sunscream affect how long it lasts? I think I could be careful enough not to chip it in that time!
Thanks ladies.x
Edit: sunscream! Ha ha ha ha ha! I obviously meant sunscreen!

If you have nothing constructive to say just move along.

Normal nail polish may not last and it may start to chip after a few days.
If you want a long lasting french manicure you could try either Shellac (power polish) or a french gel overlay. These would be more hard wearing than normal polish and should last until your wedding.
Sunscreen can cause fading on gels especially if they contain DEET. This is normally more apparent on darker colours though so a french manicure should fare well.0 -
Just a polished based manicure would almost certainly chip or peel in that time. If you want something to last I would say go with gels or get teh manicure done a day or 2 before.House saving Targets:

I wear shellac also, and the french is fab as they use a transfer so the 'smile' is pristine and you couldn't get that with a hand-paint.
Lasts like Sammy says about 3-4 weeks, and the good thing with a french is you can't see the growth that much, a colour in shellac needs re-doing every 2 weeks on me as my nails grow quick.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0
