Mortgage Help

My problem is a bit specific, but any guidance will be gratefully received.
I've recently split from my wife and have moved into a flat out of our mortgaged property. I'm struggling to pay for both houses and my wife has suggested that she continues to pay the mortgage on her own (but keeping the house in joint names).
Does this leave me vulnerable to losing any rights to the house? I really dont want to sell as my son lives there too.
Please help
