Long winded remortgage

Chasing up today to see where I am at only to find another obstacle! Remortgage is from Nationwide to HSBC.
Turns out when I remortgaged some years ago from the Coventry they never removed the charge held against my freehold,so on the land registry search they still show up! confusing Nationwide seem to have a charge on the leasehold, despite my property being freehold, and being like that for some 20 years!
Letter out today to Coventry to ask them to confirm its wrong, and get the land registry to remove it, but realistically how long will that take??

Not an unusual error with Coventry it appears (as we have had 2 clients in similar position).
Watch out you don't pick up any charges from solicitors for resolving this and if you do, go back to Coventry to claim (we got both of ours back - interestingly one of which was a property mortgaged with Coventry, paid off and then remortgaged again with Coventry some months later - refused to progress with new mortgage initially becuse of their own charge !).
In answer your question - follow up on the phone and it should be a fairly quick process.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
cheers, they say they respond to all mail within 24 hours, so will ring them Friday0

Just to let you know I found my old account number and rang them and they said they would action it and to allow 48 hours for it to go through, as its electronic.
Hoping now that the remortgage can go ahead on Monday and I am into the home straight :-)0
