What is the best kind of mortgage for me?

My partner and I have a fixed 2 year mortgage for our first house which ends next month. I am just wondering what people think would be the best kind of mortgage to go for after that? I have heard people recommending tracker mortgages but am unsure about whether this would be the best option?
