I've washed my cashmere for years in a machine on the delicates/wool wash (about 30 degrees) using a 'silk & wool' washing liquid but not any softener. here's some useful stuff about washing cashmere in a machine, getting rid of bobbles and cashmere care at CashmereShopping.co.uk. All my jumpers are still going strong and are as soft as butter.0

I've searched the various posts/threads but can't find specific answer to this question. Does anyone have a tried and tested suggestion how to handwash cashmere jumper? In cold water? Wash in baby shampoo? Use fabric conditioner or not? I did see references to vinegar during my search but can't get my head round a product that descales kettles being used on cashmere.fitzroy0

I have a cashmere jumper. It says on the lable that it can be machine washed but I haven't. Anyway a little washing powder dissolved in tepid water, gently splosh about. Rinse, I don't use fabric conditioner and gently squeeze the water out. Don't wring it. Dry flat. That's the hard bit. I put the airer over the bath flat and spread it out as best I can.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

Hi fitzroy,
There's an earlier thread with lots of advice on washing cashmere that should help so I've added your thread to it to keep the suggestions together.
