Hi all...

Just wanted to say hi and say what an amazing little place this is, i've been freaking out and struggling with debts for a while now and after reading through the majority of posts on here over the last month or so, I feel like there is some kind of light at the end of the tunnel.

When I get the guts to, i'll figure out exactly all my debts and do an SOA thingy and see what you guys suggest, the basics are i'm 27, in about £18k of debt (6.5k taxman, 9k lloydstsb (2 OD's and a loan), the rest an assortment of cc's, catalogues, store cards and so on....all in default and phoning constantly demanding money) I'm in an awful job which pays around £9.2k after tax a year and have around £80-£100 spare a month, won't go into the reasons as they are purely self pitying and just sound like a cop-out to the reason i'm in this situation.

Anyways...as I said, wanted to really thank whoever set this place up for a little beacon of hope when all seems impossible :T

  • Good luck! Try and post an SOA - when you get your head around EXACTLY how much debt you have, then it really helps you to find a way forward. ( Well, I hope it does anyway - that is my aim!).

Hi I'm relatively new as well and have found the people on here to be life savers. without their help I dread to think where I'd be now, as it is in a fairly short space of time I have my debt management plan set up and although it will take me 9 years to sort out at least I am no longer spending money I haven't got!! best of luck to you, as everyone always says the first step is the hardest and you've done that it should all get a little easier now.

    Welcome Experiment626

You've done the really hard thing of realising you have a problem and you've made the decision to do something about it.

Work on the SOA as soon as possible and post it on here, lots of people will give you help and advice on where you can save money, make money and how best to go about tackling your debts.

    Good luck
