Just spent a weekend & today eating stuff that was thrown out by others/destined to be chucked.
First lot of food was neighbour who'd had to leave in a rush & asked me to throw everything in her fridge out - well hey!??:money:
Have a Saturday holiday house cleaning job & the last lot chucked out smoked salmon, veg- bread, beautiful home made cake that I think they'd bought from the local food producers market - delish. At first I thought I'd take the stuff for the hens & then I thought nayyyyy, when was the last time I'd had smoked salmon - couldn't remember, so that was Sat evenings dinner. Sunday's was peppered mackeral (still in it's in date shrink wrap stuff) & salad & new potatoes from dustbin plus oragnic malted bread & butter from same wheelie bin.
It felt a bit strange but rather liberating -like I've lost my wheelie bin cherry. It was really tasty stuff & I am gob-smacked that people can throw this sort of food out. It is a mad world.
Now I think that I may do this sort of thing again - it's green & ethical.
