About getting organic milk and veg delivered...

Options
Dairy Crest are now delivering organic stuff to our area.
A pint of organic milk is 64p
A Mixed fruit &veg box is £14
contents
1kg spuds
1kg parsnips
500g carrots
1 cauliflower
1 cabbage
500g onions
1kg brussel sprouts
4 bananas
4 apples
10 clementines

I'm not so sure these are good prices. What do you think?

If it would save me going to the shops for milk and veg and impulse buying I'm happy to pay a bit more than other places. Plus it would mean a regular supply of milk in portions that it won't go off.

Grateful for any thoughts

Looks quite reasonable to me, compared to other organic box schemes.

I used to get a medium veg box from Riverford plus a fruit bag, which was £13.50 I think. The veg on it's own was £9. Looks like you get a similar amount of fruit and veg in the £14 box from Dairy Crest. The only thing I'd check is whether the veggies are sourced locally, otherwise you're clocking up extra food miles.

I've done a price check wiyh tesco's and Dairy Crest would be 81p more expensive...so I'll give it a try.

  • If Dairy Crest is 81p dearer, have you factored in the petrol cost of going to get it from Tesco? That would make Dairy Crest cheaper! :T
