I have bookmarked the page so fingers crossed my (can't mention name) will be expecting soon!

I can't believe people are still using disposable nappies - they cost a fortune!
  • Thanks, have sent my details. Always wanted to try cloth, I'll see how my 11 month old gets on with it.

I have some of these nappies and they are lovely and soft and look like the baby in the Fairy ad when they are on.

    BUT

They take ages to dry and you need an extra liner with them (either fleece or a dispo one)

I prefere Fuzzis or swaddlebees then these as they dry quicker, have a neater fit and dont need an extra liner.

But the little lambs are cheap and ideal an extra nappies but I wouldnt have a full supply of them.

i used to wear disposable nappies, and im 24 now, so they have been all the go in the 80's :)

You just wash them in a bowl dont you and hang them on the line, maybe need to buy some rubber gloves first though :D

i had one of these for roo. it was lovely but quite small, didn't suit a fat baby! mine wasn't a freebie, i paid for a sample pack that also contained a wrap - the wrap was the best i found. it's worth getting samples of as many different brands as you can though, to see which ones suit best - all babies are different.

Hmm! Maybe in the 80s you needed to wash them in a bowl, but most people have washing machines now to do all the work!
Seriously, they are really easy to use - I am the worlds worst housewife and my ds wore nothing else, so they must be good! People who use cloth nappies rave about them, which is a great recommendation.
You could also try the local council, as many of them have schemes for cheap or free cloth nappies to try an cut down your waste.
Jellyhead is quite right, try a few, and see what suits, as there isn't a "definitive" nappy to suit every baby - babies are just really awkward and not all the same size!!!

Boring fact but disposables were about when I was born so late 1960's but my mum said they weren't very good and leaked. If I was pregnant now I'd seriously consider cloth nappies - I constantly had a bucket of bibs soaking in napisan so a bucket of nappies would have made little difference at all! And of course they are so much better than when I was a baby - positively trendy!
