I`m thinking - kimono-style dressing gown Silk is quite warm, especially over flannelette PJ`s!
Also thinking - sew them onto a cheap fleece.
Also wondering - why on earth you acquired them in the first place!0 -
Cool that you want to use them, but was wondering why you wouldn't just ebay them and make some money?
(Also curious about the back story!)Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0 -
Hi, I would sell them individually on ebay if you have the time and effort, or a wholesale lot would be an idea - and you can also keep some for crafting. Have a look at how much they are going for for an idea too. Sewing onto cheap fleace for a quilt sounds lovely. Also some women like a silk pillowcase because it is supposed to be better for the wrinkles, never tried this myself!0

It would be sensible to sell - if you did I'd go for individually maybe with a fixed price buy it now option and emphasise the amazing quality and thickness of the silk - but if you could make a garment then you have to say to yourself, when will I ever have the opportunity to own and wear something so gorgeous and luxurious again?0

I'd make a quilt for your bed. Either as a loose cover for a thin summer weight duvet or use the duvet as batting and stitch straight through it. You could use a fleece blanket as a backing. Then Ebay any left over to cover the cost of the fleece and duvet.Val.0

i would make a weaved bed throw out of them just overlap them all then steam the edgesDEC GC £463.67/£450

a silk quilt/ eiderdown would be lovely - use the silk both sides and sandwich a cheap duvet between - it would be warm, soft and super luxurious feelingPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Please post one to me:D:D
Seriously i'd make a quilt with them.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0 -
Silk is a bit of a pain to sew with but a teflon foot may help with puckering if doing them on the machine..my first thought was knickers but reading they're only 4" wide you'd have to have a tiny bum :rotfl:0

Or a tip I got from an old-fashioned "tailoress" - put tissue paper between the layers of silk, makes it easier to machine-sew!0
