I have great teeth according to my dentist (last checkup I dunno maybe 8 months ago and every time im out in no time) BUT I have had some very light but noticable stains on my two front teeth for some time (dentist says its from brushing too hard its worn it away and says they arent stains) but I swear they have almost gone now, cant notice it most times unless directly in a mirror under bright light so I dunno.. I've been using "white glow" for a few weeks now (anyone used it before? the one they say actors and model use lol yeah ok..). But I have read some things like whitening toothpastes dont whiten they only remove stains and they also dont contain flouride and have other sacrifices to make way for the whitening. They are also supposedly highly abrasive for tooth enamel or whatever (im no expert...). My teeth are natural coloured, not yellow or anything but hey white is better right. Would continuing using this toothpaste (or any whitening toothpaste) damage my teeth in the long run? Should I just use something like colgate total is that the best overall? I know that doesnt whiten but hey I would rather protect my teeth in the long run...
I would ask the dentist but I have yearly checkups so just after some opinions from you guys and girls in the meantime..only people with good teeth so i know whats good need to reply
I just noticed today as well I have a single tooth right near the back of my mouth (top section) that is like a grey/blue colour and the middle bit black?!? just one tooth..I never noticed that before. what the hell is that? I would rip it out but I dunno if it will grow back..I might have to make an appointment.

You do not know if an adult tooth will grow back or not after it is removed?

Edit: In answer to your toothpaste question, Sensodyne Total Care F, Sensodyne Pronamal, and Sensodyne Gentle Whitening. I can never decide which to get from the shop so choose one of the three randomly.0 -
I'm not sure about the toothpastes, (tbh I think a lot of them are a bit gimmicky, - I just use Aquafresh or whatever they have for £1
) but yes, get the grey/blue/black tooth looked at by the dentist! Sounds a bit iffy, LOL.

From what I have seen via documentaries and newspaper reports, tooth whitening pastes cannot do very much at all, having super white teeth tends to be down to bleaching and wearing veneers (and most likely the latter).
I doubt very much pastes would be able to even out discolouration rather then just whitening all over.
I'd speak to your dentist about what could be done as bleaching is risky as it causes more damage.0 -

I had this - I had two stains on my front teeth, thought it was plaque so kept brushing more and more - went to the dentist and was told that it was worn patches from brushing too hard. I had to have them filled (dunno if it's called that when it's on the front, but you know what I mean).
I really wouldn't keep using the abrasive whitening toothpastes because you will make it worse. If you don't believe your dentist, see if you can see someone else and get a second opinion.Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -
thanks guys I will probably stick to something like colgate total and use the whitening one every now and then like once or twice a week. what about using the whitening one for a few mins and then using the colgate total straight after? is that safe?0
