Experian 30 day trial period??

Options
Hi,

I am keen to confirm my current credit rating....and was working my way through the Experian login process to sign-up. I noticed it said about the 30 trial..and then if you choose to....you can pay £14.99 monthly. Does anyone know if they do allow you to choose and don't just start taking the money automatically????

Just a bit nervous to put my card details on!!!

Cheers:D
Woke up to my debt 11/10/07
Looking forward to a debt-free future :j

You need to put your debit/credit card details on but as long as you phone them before the 30 day time limit (put a reminder alarm on your phone!) then they will not deduct any money. Be ready for a bit of a hard sell (Don't you want to be in control of our finances? What if you are a victim of fraud? etc)...just make it clear you wish to cancel.

In 6/12 months time, do the Equifax trial. Then after that the Callcredit one.

You can also register with Noddle just now (it's a work in progress at the moment though) but that's completel free and you can check your file every month.

    You choose by not cancelling.
Just be aware that they don't understand some rare occurrences, like Febuary.
I was charged during the free trial period - on the 1 month anniversary which was the 29th day of the trial.
They did however refund after writing them an email.
The phone sales people were less than helpful in cancelling.

As soon as you get your copy of the credit report, contact them to cancel. I found Experian to be quicker to get through to on the phone than Equifax, but some people may have add better experiences with Equifax. I've taken advantage of the free trial before and have had no problems, but I understand your concern, as it is a little scary entering your card details for something that is initially free. Take advantage of it, but as soon as you get the copy of the credit report, call them to cancel.
If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.
