**Newbie** Looking for Tips & Adivce, also can give some too!!

Hi to you all,

This is my first ever log, however i have read a lot of your logs and have been inspired by the sheer determination you all have!

I am currently with the CCCS and have been for the past 3 years. My current situation is £29,666 from an original total of £35,000. I am very thankful to them for helping me with my DMP, but cant help but feel that this debt is never going to go!!

If there is anyone who can help with tips or advice on reducing it, please feel free to contact me.

I do have an inspiring story about my partner, whom at the middle of last year also had a lump of debt worth £12,500. But he has now managed to clear most of his debts with the help of the wonderfull local CAB! He was originally with the CCCS but felt that he was getting nowhere with them. His creditors weren't freezing his interest therefore what he was paying in wasn't making a blind bit of difference.
Unfortunatley, a few years ago he experiened a few problems and had a breakdown. During this point he took out all the loans etc, therefore the CAB confornted his creditors about this pointing out that the contract was void due to him not having a sound mind. They also supplied his creditors with a list of the medication he was on pointing out the side effects. Thanks to the CAB they have managed to write-off most of the debt, and he has about £400 to go. This being Argos & Commet who are the awkward ones. The Banks have accepted it and written them off.

Good Luck to you all!!

  • Hi, as im a newbiew, is an SOA a list of what i owe? Many Thanks for your reply.
  • Hi Beetlebug, welcome to the board!

See southernscousers sticky at the top of the board, it gives full details on how to post your SOA or Statement of Affairs so that it takes into account everything you're currently spending on. Once we've seen that then people should be able to make their advice fully relevant to how you're currently spending your money
