Thanks Sharron, my husband works varyin hours so I cannot take on evening work as he is sometimes out.
I cannot collect or drop off children as that is illegal unless I register as a childminder (was once!).
I hope to return to social services in the leaving care team where I was before. That depends on what they have available though as my youngest is not at school yet.
I babysit for https://www.sitters.co.uk which brings in a little :)

You must have some serious earning potential then ( I used to work in social work till fairly recently.

Could you not approach your local SS team or connexions? Only I KNOW for a fact that they often let you work flexibly ( ie write reports from home etc) if you have nippers.

Round my way a leaving care SW would command about 35k with 3 years PQ experience minimum
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

have you thoguht about doing supervised contacts as a part time thing, as and when or escorting? this would easily fit in around your kiddies school hours?

I know what you mean! I was all set to train as a SW but I fell pregnant! I was hoping maybe i could get some sessional work or something -I asked before Xmas but at that time I had no car and the jobs round here are all essential car user ( North Warwickshire, lots of villages!). Anyway, my parents bought me a car to help out - have to give it back if I do not get work :rotfl:
The supervised contacts is a great idea, and I had not thought of agencies... my youngest is old enough to start preschool ( she hasn't due to cost) but if I could work, that wouldn't be an issue.....
  • Also - do you know of any agencies that are in my area?
