breadmaker quantity help!

hi,
ive tried searching, and also had a trawl through the indexed sections, but couldnt find anything to help.
i want to make a smaller hot cross bun loaf in my breadmaker, but it only goes down to the medium size loaf for quantities. the medium loaf is ok, except its so light and risen it hits the breadmaker lid!!
we get through it so quick, i want to make smaller ones but im not sure how to reduce the recipe.
its a kenwood bm and the recipes for a 750g and a 1kg is as follows;
750 1kg
water - 175ml 280ml
milk powder 1tbsp 1 1/2tbsp
eggs 2 2
white flour 450g 600g
salt 1/2 tsp 1tsp
light brown sugar 50g 60g
butter 50g 60g
mixed spice 1 tbsp 1 1/2 tbsp
yeast 1 sachet 2 tsp
mixed dried fruit 150g 200g
I was tempted to try putting the full mix in, setting it to the 500g setting then taking half the mix out just before it starts to cook it, but then id be left with a risen dough and no way of cooking it (my normal oven is broken!)
ive searched the internet for other recipes but they are too different to the one above; this produces the most loveliest hot cross bun loaf ive ever had so my kids would go on strike if i changed it!!
thanks for any help

Hi tiredwithtwins,
I would just take the quantity of ingredients for a kg loaf and half them to get the quantities for a 500g loaf. If I've got it right then the measurements would be:
water - 140ml
milk powder - 3/4 tbsp
eggs - 1
white flour 300g
salt 1/2 tsp
light brown sugar - 30g
butter - 30g
mixed spice - 3/4 tbsp
yeast - 1tsp
mixed dried furit 100g

hi pink,
thats what i initially thought, but i was worried the sugar and butter quantities woudlnt be in proportion to the flour/egg/water/fruit??
