Won an MP3 player

First of all this is a note to thank you all for being such an inspiration. I’ve started comping recently, and have found your advice and example very useful and motivating. :T

People were saying on this board that you stand more chances of winning local competitions, because not too many people bother with those. Well, following your advice, I’ve recently entered a postal competition printed in the local paper to win an MP3 player. To my surprise, postie has just been here, and he’s brought me… my new MP3 player! :j My first win in 2007 (I won a few bits and bobs towards the end of last year too, but nothing as expensive as this). I’m well chuffed. :j :j

Thank you all, and good luck!

Congratulations it is true local paper copmpetitions are easier to win. I have won some good prizes including a mini cruise to Germany and mini cruise to Denmark plus loads of threatre tickets and other smaller prizes. National newspaper are good too, I won my wedding to Las Vegas, including flights hotel, limozine, flowers, wedding photos, wedding ceremony and £500 cash with the News of the World. Also try prizefinder.com I have won a few prizes with them including a skiing family holiday to Italy and £300 of spoerts gear and other smaller prizes. If you dont enter you cant win so the more you enter the better chance you have of winning some super prizes.

    Thank you Strepsy.

I'm not familiar with MP3 players :o (hubby is a lot more knowledgeable than me), so I can only tell you the brand: Dell. I googled it, and read that Dell has recently stopped its MP3 players production (lots of stronger competitors on the market apparently). Can't be a bad product though - hopefully. :o

Hubby will 'test' it later today.

Well being it Dell it should be good, brill.

Unfortunately my local paper has gone the way of premium rate calls for its competitions. :( So no go for me there.

Thank you so much for your fab advice. Wow, you've won so many prizes, well done! :T

I used to think I would never win anything, and this is why I didn't enter competitions in the first place. Things have recently started to change - as you say, you have to be in it to win it. Now I know: this is sooo true. ;)
