    Monthly Budget Summary
    Total monthly income.................... 1,156.8
Expenses (including HP & secured debts). 946.4
    Available for debt repayments........... 210.4
    Monthly UNsecured debt repayments....... 300
Amount short for making debt repayments. -89.6 I have made a couple of suggestions above that might help you save a bit, and although you're getting further in to debt each month by £90, there does seem to be light at the end of the tunnel. You only have one debt, and if you can scrape by for the next 3 months that will be fully repaid (could you have a few lean months?), and you will have this "extra" cash in your pocket to get your gas, water and electric bills back on to an even keel.
How do you mean further into debt each month? Next month the OP will owe £210 less than this month. I'd say that is getting out of debt. Agreed it won't take 3 months but in 5 months the debts to her friends and the fines will be paid off.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Ill try to remember to reply to everyone thank you :)

My loan is with a few friends, am also paying a fine which is in with the #300

My rent is 550 which is cheap for here, i cant move as of yet because i cant save the money for a months rent upfront, and the deposit I do get HB that is including on my SOA in benefits ( i get 390 a month)

My debt to electric, gas and water i will be paing for ages yet (800+ debt on them :$)

My phone is contract, But for the 10 a month i use it for all calls and my internet at home etc too

My debts are 0% as they are friends and the extra im paying was a fixed amount so included in the 925

i have contacted cab but as my debts arent to creditors only freinds they said there wasnt really much they could do it was up to me to discuss it with them

hope ive replied to everything thanks

Only if it's council/housing association. Housing Benefit is credited to my bank account as withdrawable cash so I include it as income then also include the rent as an expense. I get £182.30 fortnightly into my bank account from housing benefit and have to pay rent monthly at £559.00. I also have £35 a week net income from lodgers so it would look odd putting my monthly rent down at £40.

oh right thanks..didnt know how it worked
If we can put a man on the moon...how come we cant put them all there?

If the OP's SOA is -£90 each month, they are currently unable to meet all their outgoings, something will have to give.

In an ideal world everyone would have a monthly surplus, however so long as income = expenditure they will not be getting further in to debt.

No the kids dad isnt working or infact claiming anything tbh i dont want any ties at all with him ever :o he isnt allowed access to them till their 18 and then its their choice not his.

I know im getting everything im entilted to (awaiting my tax credits) because of a recent change in circumstances

Thank you for replying :) At least im not talkign to myself :o

Shouldn't the father be contributing to the children's upkeep if he does start working?

All very well saying you don't want any ties but you had ties that created the children. You can't expect the other taxpayers to finance your life forever whilst you are not working either.

How can a child at 6 months make that choice? It must be very advanced.

Also, there isn't a massive problem here.

With your surplus, you could pay your debts off in just over 4 months and then have a pretty decent surplus from your benefits.

when the children reach 18 years of age they will choose if/when they see their father!

Blimey - so much for non judgemental advice!

There could be any number of reasons for non-contact. None of which are relevant to the advice sought.

    OP

Have you asked your friends if it is possible to pay them back over a slightly longer time period? I realise this is awkward to do and you may not want to but there are a few gaps in your SOA over and above what you have put in so you need to be realistic about what repayments you are able to make.

Have you applied for Healthy Start vouchers? They can be used on formula, cows milk, fruit and veg. For kids the ages you have, you should be entitled to £9.30 a week. That would be a massive help.

You can print the application form off online, just google healthy start. You'll need the Health Visitor to sign it as well.

    Good luck :)

    ETA: Here's the link http://www.healthystart.nhs.uk/
    I'll get there!
